4.  What is “Fair Trade?”

Fair Trade is an organized social movement and market-based approach, focused in particular on exports from developing countries to developed countries, that seeks to help producers in developing countries obtain fair-living wage salaries, better trading conditions and promote sustainability.  Additionally, fair trade advocates for the implementation of higher standards concerning producers reducing the environmental footprints left during the production process.

5. Why are the products priced as they are?

All of our products are hand made and require a lot of time and effort. Thai Song does our best to keep our prices low while ensuring that our employees receive a fair wage for their labor.  Relative to other fair trade products, Thai Song’s prices are very reasonable.
